Atlantian Arts & Sciences Handbook
The years of the pandemic have required innovations for SCA activities. One of these is the move to online A&S display and contests. Heroic efforts on the part of those with the right technical expertise enabled local and kingdom A&S displays and contests to go on. Based on past experience and input from users, the Kingdom Ministry of Arts and Sciences decided tocreate a standardized practice.
Virtual displays and competitions will remain a fixture even with the return of in-person activities. Many individuals have commented on how virtual activities have enabled them to participate without the necessity of travel when other obligations and/or health concerns mean they cannot come to an event.
The Google Drive in the Contests Deputy Gmail account (contests_deputy@moas.atlantia.sca.org) has a series of templates that can be readily adapted for almost any kind of A&S display or contest. These require the user have some knowledge of Google tools (primarily Google Forms and Google Sites). There is documentation to assist you with the process. For access, contact the Contests Deputy, or if none is available, the KMoAS.
The Contests Deputy Google Drive will maintain an archive of all virtual contests and displays that are sponsored from that place. Local groups may request to use the kingdom resources.
