Our main objectives are: to promote rigorous scholarship in the field of medieval genealogical, prosopographical, and related research; to collect, catalogue, translate and analyse relevant primary and secondary sources; to undertake research projects, or to support such projects by financial or other means; and to disseminate information resulting from our activities by electronic or conventional means.

A database which aims to cover all of the recorded inhabitants of England from the late sixth to the end of the eleventh century. It is based on a systematic examination of the available written sources for the period, including chronicles, saints' Lives, charters, libri vitae, inscriptions, and coins.

Current research into subjects relevant to mediaeval prosopography. Contents include: descriptions of major ongoing research projects concerned with any aspect of prosopography; short notices of forthcoming publications (editions of primary sources as well as secondary works) of a prosopographical interest; a forum for contact between scholars whose research has a prosopographical element. Contributions with prosopographical implications concerned with the auxiliary disciplines such as onomastics, genealogy, biography, and computing are also welcome.
