These books are some of the places I get my stories, especially the stories you hear me tell at SCA events. This bibliograp hy is not meant to be all-encomp assing, it's just a subset of the books I happen to own that I think others might find interestin g. The books are divided into two groups: books about storytelli ng, which are how-to books and reference books; and story books, which are books that actually contain stories.

Perhaps the rarest form of entertainment in the SCA is the ghost story, the horror tale and fables of fear and fright. Ghoulish plots and dark settings are only occasionally referred to at bardic gatherings, despite the flavor they add to a performer's body of work. This is a summary of notes intended to encourage entertainers to explore the emotion of fear, especially as a storyteller.
