Canvaswork

There are many types of embroidery used in the historical period covered by the SCA. Counted thread embroidery is one of the easier forms of embroidery found in our period.

Canvaswork is the term referring to 16th century needlework done on canvas. Today, we refer to canvaswork as "needl epoint,&#3 4; but this is an American descriptio n. If you used the term needlepoin t during the Middle Ages, you would be referring to lacemaking with a needle.
