The Mongolian del has an ancient history and has remained relatively unchanged for several hundred years. One period can be denoted from the next by subtle details such as collar, trim, pattern, and accessorie s, but the basic shape remains the same -- a long, closefitti ng robe that crosses in the front and has long tapering sleeves. This article is mostly concerning the period between 1200-1400 AD, during the height of the Mongol Empire, Yuan Dynasty, and the Ilkhans.
