Mezza mandolina is a lace form that many lacemakers have heard of, but nobody seems quite sure of what it is exactly, or how it's made. There are far-flung paintings of ladies wearing mezza partlets or dress embellishm ents. There are precious few existing examples of pre-1600 mezza.
