Vikings & Viking-Age Scandinavia

We re-create the pastimes, crafts and culture of Dark Age Europe, focusing on the period of Viking occupation of the city of York in northern England. Known by its Norse name of Jorvik, York was occupied by the Vikings and ruled by them for almost a hundred years in the 9th and 10th centuries.

Recreates the lives and deaths of Anglo-Saxons, Norsemen, Normans and the other people of the British Isles in the centuries around the Battle of Hastings. An excellent collection of articles on life in Anglo-Saxon England.

Concentrates mostly on Celtic, Norman, Saxon, and Viking re-enactment for around the tenth century.
